Normally we would hand-make sushi at home but this time, ordered a party-plate for our good friends … for their appetizers knowing how much of a good chef the hostess is. Tomorrow is the Fourth, but we are celebratin the night before someone’s special birthday.
Here’s to another year around the Sun; may you shine brighter no matter.
& nori and sushi rice for hand rolls for others while I had my … rice porriage – actually really yummy too with spinich brown rice enoki mushrooms and white miso in chicken broth … anti-inflammatory foods good for my esophogus fix. Hand rolls with assortment of sashimi were enjoyed by others:) It’s all good.
A friend once said he preferred listening to foreign language songs/music because he will just tune into the sounds itself and not think about the meaning of the lyrics… so he will seek out whatever sounds most beautiful in the realm of human sound instrument – awed by the human voice. The soundscapes of pure sounds not formulating any words. At least to the foreign ears.
In my case, the words to the lyrics in this case is beautiful but … then, soon images of the words take over my mind and as beautiful as it is … you are in the world of imagery and memories … finding meanings and morals and lessons … the mind endlessly searches for meaning …
To not to know is a bliss sometimes.
Then, our curious great minds take over. Then words come alive and … we find that meaning we are so desperate to find always. Then, the mind is busy. The sounds evoke a certain feeling here … regardless of the words. Sometimes in not knowing, we know.
So … knowing each word, the meaning of the lyrics- she thinks – this is not my go to meditation music but … soothing relaxing beauty. I am in love with her voice.
