Unagi eating in Tokyo

Most who know me would wonder about my mental state in that I passed up on eating one of my all time favorite foods in Japan because … because I was a chicken. Haha not Unagi!?Regrettably as I later saw the kind of precautions were taken at the particular unagi specialty restaurant we were invited to. Apparently ushered to a private room accomplishing social distance with ease – and then there were these clear partitions at the seated table and servers all wearing masks.

With low vaccine rate, gotta do what you can there. I love 専門店Unagi … so regret to miss out but fear got in the way of the very best of me who, pre-COVID, was a social hungry animal,? never missing out on foodie experience Yet Today, passing up on fine delicacy and company? What’s gotten into to me? A little monster of anxiety?Does anyone feel the same ? That feeling of not being able to get your guards down – not being able to relax and resume normalcy of eating out at a restaurant indoor ? Walking into stores where strangers are shoppers rubbing elbows with them? Do we trust our public officials when they say it’s safe and all businesses are open like normal times? Is the new normal safe? Has the last one year and 3 months changed you? Has constant vigilance and alarming news got the best of our psyche?

How can you find inner peace and joy irrespective of whatever turbulence is happening on the external world?
