“Tiramisu of Stress”

Need for restoration to avoid this … A family member who went to grad school with Katarina Alcorn mentioned this TED talk of her’s: “summoning the internal resources and … trying harder” – as if. I don’t know about you but all around me, I see so many people trying harder and … harder. Some make it look so easy and some make it look as though it’s never enough.

I think biologically, women have 3 key life changing events on our timeline that may “limit” or “free” us depending on our perspectives … (hope to take a look at each in the coming months…) & Men? Shiva & Shakti – there’s a little bit of another in each of us so best to understand each other for a harmonious relationship. Often we don’t understand each other’s needs, especially when one is sleep deprived and desensitized and delirious – the latter is a joke.

Yeay to “Velour Papa”s:) who lets their partners have time for Self to regenerate, recharge, refresh. Not surprised to hear the divorce rate came down – of course.

Everyone needs to be valued and honored – men and women. Both – for We are in it together:)
Perhaps taking turns to allow each partner to go seek out restorative yoga or whatever allows him/her to unplug without guilt or anxieties – taking shifts, covering each other or
find a coop and exchange favors so both can go out to really unplug and then regenerate. Nothing was more heart warming for me than when I saw this maybe a year ago in my class – a couple came in and both alongside they just melted into sleeping swan – his left palm atop her right hand – Haaahhhh – I was in awe of their aura … so beautiful. Sometimes I’ve seen with Mother-Daughter … so far, not father-son … but I guess that says something about our culture.

Japan has been suffering from lower birthrate for decades … and the government is making public policies to give incentives for young women to bear children … All that while, there’s one I think I heard an island in Japan where the birthrate is booming. If the average birthrate is something like ONE, this place is like FOUR. Quadruple.

Why? Apparently it’s not the mom or the dad’s job to take care of only their own children – the entire Island, the entire community takes care of the children. Kids actually grow up in a tribal setting where older children (not necessarily sibling) and adults just look out for each other so mothers feel at ease and secure enough to gestate and deliver life without worries. Wonder which is more civilized way of living – this island in the backwaters somewhere off Japan OR this high-tech, highly skilled, educated city dwellers ways of always being electronically connected but still feeling disconnected. Thus for the latter, more the urge and need to want to use the social media to be noticed or not feel alone and seek out the ultimate “connection”, to be part of >>>>><<<<<<< what?

Road Signs to California Oceans

IMG_1338IMG_1336 Such delightful signs on the path… humor always helps.

“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other opinions drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Hot Pot … Yin-Yang motif

IMG_0554_01
This way you get two kinds into one; one side is HOT & Spicy broth with red chili peppers floating; the other side is the Vegetarian mushroom broth delicately flavored – EARTHY but LIGHT – no those red stuff is not chili peppers but Gogi berries floating about. Chinese style hot pot … what’s Japanese style hot pot? It’s a little different – depending on the family, place of origin …your personal preferences. What are we talking about ? Hot pots?
