DOG DOG DOG

Got my fortune 🔮 at a Shinto shrine ⛩ in Tsukiji after a sushi lunch at a secret sushi counter where the owner forbids any photo taking – he says he does not want his regular clients to be inconvenienced by becoming too popular which he will surely become if anyone posted his offerings – I felt like crying with gratitude for the delicacy of freshest seafood he highlights for the “Omakasa” means “leave it up to the chef” – it’s SO fresh, so clean, so delicious – I was savoring each bite, thanking the divine for the delicate morsels he places on the bamboo leaf/plate. Yesterday, paid respect to a golden Buddha at a Buddhist temple at the foot of Tokyo Tower. It’s not that I went looking for temples and deities – small shrines and temples are all over even in Tokyo. With an offering you can get a little amulet or a fortune. My fortune’s key word was “growth “, while my travel companion’s was …

Eyes popped out with this price tag of a beanie shiva inu. Small is not only beautiful in Japan, it’s quite …expensive!

Going home to my Shiva in California soon:) There’s Shiva inu rescue and all kinds of dog rescue groups – while there’s no judgement as this beanie shiva with a price tag of $5000 is precious so are lives of all those dogs waiting to be rescued and … adopted into a new loving home. It’s act of kindness how rescue dogs end up rescuing humans in need of unconditional love – who rescued who ? It’s priceless.

Year of the Dog

Started out quite exciting with my trip to Japan scheduled to depart on New Years Day – but for crazy reasons delayed to depart on the third instead. So New Years Day was spent on the beach with our favorite dog and watching the sun set.

Then within moments, watching the first super moon of this new year rise as it smudged orange red the entire horizon… breathtakingly beautiful that I forgot to capture it on camera. Sometimes, this phone camera is such a distraction from genuinely experiencing… so here are some photos from earlier that day – it was especially a low tide exposing expansive Beach dotted with abundance of starfish. Frocking in the waves 🌊 with our pup, breathing the fresh ocean air, I was reminded its the simple things in life, like being in nature, being with those you connect with, is all about living my yoga – with joy.

Last 2 photos are taken in Tokyo – where I finally landed on the fourth of January- I just love how Japanese people adorn the entry way with little whimsical decorations of New Year auspiciousness – don’t you?

Super Moon Sunday Evening

Super FULL Moon hang so big, so ripe ! So close, you can reach and touch it – the soft glow, hanging low brushing the horizon this evening …It was simply… BEAUTIFUL. Full Moon night class – if only they knew what they are missing … Loved having few mommies practicing for two (?) so analogous to tonight’s cosmic power – modified to shift it more pre-natal and therapeutic but the essence of my intention was there: To detox, so to purify and to reclaim the beginner’s mind that are full of possibilities.

Super Full Moon ritual starts from ME:) Activating my intentions as the super moon slowly rises higher up on the night sky seen through the trees. A mom-to-be with a ripened belly said – I want to be more powerful … That wish is granted – this is THE practice if you stick with it, that empowers you. More power comes not just from whipping yourself into shape, but knowing ways to quiet the agitation, balance the nervous system and enjoy the baby like quality sleep that allows you enjoy a wakeful conscious wholeness. When we are fully present, we find bliss –
in spite of the struggles, there’s emotional balance and the ease and bounce you have in your steps. Then … your body will thank you and decide there’s no longer any need to stock up on excess fat. We will slim down to a level that’s just … right. Left unhampered but supported, our body has an intelligence to know what it needs; what it doesn’t. It’s a full circle. Don’t worry so much.

Looking up at the sky, the full moon, as I feel the anticipation of soon graduating with my Yoga Therapist certification after 800 hrs. of training (unbelievable to me as well), I am feeling the ripened sense of accomplishment mixed with the sense of remembrance of what it means to be a beginner that I wish to be each day:

“If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities,
but in the expert’s mind there are few. ”
