Golden Onion Rings from beer batter are crisp, light and NOT greasy. But far cry from the sweets offerings to the lunar spirit this season…

While I meant to make the Otsukimi Dango – the traditional moon viewing sweets – instead made what was requested for the farewell for the one embarking on this journey. Saying Sayonara is never easy. But especially more so when level of anxiety runs high among the travelers.

After this stressful excursion, we will need the serene respite sipping tea and biting into chewy sweet dango cakes.

Armed with “unconditional love”, she is not afraid to tell you the uncomfortable truth ! She will continue if I should wince at the brutality of that truth. Yes truth hurts at times.

Aloha Cookies

Arigato! Cute package gift from Hawaii …there’s first time to everything and this is my first on these.

Some of you may know that I lost about 20lbs during the pandemic … and while it’s apparently better for looks ? I rather be 10 lbs heavier and heartier. I have a feeling these calories packed cookies are sure to put on the pounds I want back – Very odd place to be as I’ve never been in a position to want to “gain” weight.

Again, thank you for the treat to fatten me up – sweet!
