Spring Cleanse for purification …

ricegreen

Mostly everyday pescarian here but this weekend was the splurge birthday weekend. Consequently, Monday will mark the start of my Spring cleanse ritual… Mini fast for a kickoff after this birthday weekend’s excesses … What does the seasonal cleanse entail? Nothing drastic – it’s not a crash diet. Nothing resembling binge and purge that so many sadly engage in. Many formulas and food plans out there but perhaps stay tuned if I record this to share or not… have not decided. Don’t want this blog to become a chore or a business …What’s most challenging is that all social engagements usually entail eating and eating something that was not prepared by me – so many on vegan trek or any rigid diet that mostly lists off what they cannot eat but I am trying to get away from that. Let’s be looser, not dogmatic and judgmental. This is what I am telling myself not others. Eat what truly nourishes your heart and soul. If that means no honey no omelettes then that’s right for you; if that means BLT sandwich obsession then … guess that’s most nourishing to her at that time. Maybe there’s a sentimental attachment to that based on past associations. Guess what I could be saying is that one can be eating kales and yogurt and still be mind/body unhealthy … it’s how your body perseveres and “process” the food. It’s yoga for digestion – digesting foods … emotions, past impressions … digesting this LIFE to the fullest.

The above is Persian green rice … with saffron but turmeric would also work… with splash of lemon or lime …My beautiful Persian friend would probably add more refined touches such as chopped pistachio nuts and their special jewel red berries.
