Harmony vs. Chaos …

Sign of a sophisticated student = cultivates harmonious and peaceful practice…
Chaotic vs. Yogic … which do you prefer? Be wise or crazy? Be relaxed and at peace or in chaos? I know what my needs are; what about you?

This is from another class but found on Utube – wish I had recorded the intensives too as it was indeed intense but… under her expert guidance, not once feared getting hurt in any way. It’s not the self-proclaimed “torture chamber” of Bikram – still just as hard but smarter. She had the total trust of entire 50+ teachers that she will not create a situation that could cause any kind of harm to our body and mind/ego. When you totally trust the teacher, there is no room for fear – then you are freed up to let go of yourself more – because you know you won’t get hurt under her guidance. No fear when you trust the teacher who fosters trust in yourself – When you know the teacher is no longer needing to teach for fame or monetary gains, or to feed the ego – rather, that she’s teaching as a way to serve … as an outlet for her passion – then that purity invites greater trust and respect. (still, she’s one Tough teacher – with a capital “T”:)

Last day of the intensive … honoring the effort we made, being brave to show up (she can yell at you when you are doing something wrong = unsafe), humbled by the practice of yoga – Namaste.

Still on Haruki Murakami this week:

“Things outside you are projections of what’s inside you, and what’s inside you is a projection of what’s outside. So when you step into the labyrinth outside you, at the same time you’re stepping into the labyrinth inside.”

Here’s what yogis and monks have known from ancient times – nothing new for someone practicing yoga but always nice to have a scientific or medical evidence to the claim for feelings of validation Click Here:)
And all yoga, whether movement based fitness or a quiet practice for regeneration, relaxation and healing – all prepares us for meditation. Labyrinth at the beach… walking the path.
