On route to Blue Bottle Tokyo – actually ran out of time and never got there – but here’s a billboard ad for a hot yoga studio down the street. It’s a good entry point for yoga.
I am lucky that I have been able to explore the full range of offerings… there’s so much to this practice!
It’s sometimes unfortunate that this image turns off or does not allow them to expand their clientele. Some who could really be well served may never show up to this studio – That is, those who do not look like that image – young woman with perfect body doing a tree pose – many may not find this poster captivating when yoga can benefit those who do not already look like this white bikini clad yogini.
YogaWorks in LA was successful because they offered a full range of classes and services and their marketing really drove in that point. They would have men, women, young and old doing different styles of yoga – thus, no wonder, the place was thriving… I remember taking Vinyasa and Viniyoga (yoga therapeutics) classes there – all excellent. I learned so much. It’s about holistic health and wholeness for the whole person whatever the size or age. Hope more people visit the local yoga studios ! Don’t be intimidated by this image – everyone can do it.
