The Artist is PRESENT…it’s … REAL SO real.

In yoga-speak, we often hear instructors say to the students, “Be Present”. There’s even a yoga-wear brand named that – so…
What does it really mean?

Captured with this music:

vs. this music … music can change the mood while the essence remains.

Her reaching her hands out – was that about “forgiveness” and “acceptance”?
An applause over their reunion … for a moment in time; they are 100% present.
How often can we stay THIS present? With others, with ourselves.

Beautiful Collaboration

A bit old (never?) and obsolete (good things never get obsolete?) … still LOVE this:)

Japanese, English, etc. whatever the language, it’s a universal language we share because dualism ceases to exist when we are … ONE.
That’s “YOGA”:)

There is a river that I’ve discovered
It flows downstream to everything I desire
I paddled so hard against the current, I did not know
That all I needed was to let the oars go and just flow

Rama rama rama, jai jai Ram {Praise, Praise God!}
Rama rama rama, jai jai Ram
Om Mani Padme Hum

“A lotus grows out of the mud/out of difficulty beauty arises”

Rama Rama Rama Rama Ram

Never knew what I had until I looked around
Once I began to feel grateful it was you I found
lessons learned, bridges crossed to get to where you are

Let’s lose ourselves in this moment,
we’ve come so far
And I say,

Rama rama rama, jai jai Ram
Rama rama rama, jai jai Ram
Om Mani Padme Hum
Rama Rama Rama Rama Ram

Tears & Goosebumps @ MoMA

Marina Abramovic … was in a romantic relationship with fellow performance artist Ulay in the 70’s. They broke up because he was not faithful … They had not seen each other for nearly 30 years.

This was shared on FB by a fellow yogini and … it’s just so … sadly beautiful. I love MOMA; I love NYC … there’s so much intensity. (But a bit too much perhaps – I can do without all that noise and intensity…things don’t have to be intense to be meaningful…) I realize that the Madison Avenue view of beauty may be spotless, wrinkle-free complexion and perfect model bodies but I find that to be boring. It’s the weathered, rugged, wrinkled, grey and aged that I find so much more charming and interesting because there’s so much wisdom gleaned from history of “living”, the memories, experiences of … joy and … pain … and power that overcame. I want to learn from them that ‘resilience’.

Despite her breakdown, she was reported to no longer be in love with him (should hope so – it’s been nearly 30 years!) and she is freed:) Still that longing – their faces, especially their eyes are so expressive.

She’s an artist, yes but why aren’t I surprised to discover she’s also a yogini with a Pranayama practice:

To control the breathing is to control the mind. With different patterns of breathing, you can fall in love, you can hate someone, you can feel the whole spectrum of feelings just by changing your breathing.

& this, THIS:

In every ancient culture, there are rituals to mortify the body as a way of understanding that the energy of the soul is indestructible.

– Marina Abramovic

I understand now and treat my temple with only respect and kindness it deserves.
