Hilarious from “Hungry for Change”, a documentary we saw recently. Not so funny when you hear “I didn’t know how to take care of myself!” from a young lady who suffered from cancer at age 31…
Start with:
“I accept myself and love myself unconditionally just the way I am.” YES!
Then gratitude… Thank your body and mind, trying so hard to protect you and keep you from harm’s way. It’s genetically programmed for survival – the fact that you are here means it’s evolved for you to be the fittest to survive – with good intentions to keep you safe and healthy – just pay attention to the inner wisdom and heed it. There’s no need for the body to be “whipped” into shape. No need to “beat yourself” up to be better – Who says “no pain, no gain”? – not in Judith’s teaching. Her mantra quote is so lovely (and funny:): “No pain, no pain” – from Living Your Yoga, a gem of a book…
& as Maty Ezraty says:
Keep in mind that when you practice yoga, you are not practicing to improve yourself. You are perfect. The practice is there to help you know that.
