Exercise vs. Yoga: It’s ALL good!

but of course with a great bias favoring yoga according to this list compiled by Swami Ramdev…and not sure if each claim is medically proven but I believe with research, each can be backed up.  Besides, there’s yoga that’s more exercise than what you think of as yoga, with a lot of aerobics/dance-like, cardio workout blended in – try doing Sun Salutations 108 times jumping through the motions and you will see what I mean… With 72 second holds, it would be less mechanical and more than just burning calories.  Your muscles are getting quite a workout and burning fat! In fact, it does not take 108 times – just 5-10 times and you have internally heated yourself.  I still love Vinyasa – it feels good.

10.Yoga is helpful to over come Diseases.

11. Only physical attributes are acquired.

11. Attributes like tolerance, self-control, self-confidence are automatically developed.
12. Integrity and behavioral changes are not achieved.

12. Through the practice of Yoga a man’s behavior changes for the good.
13. After the practice Man gets tired.

Song repeating in my head…over & over…

Has that ever happened to you?  So I looked up the lyrics…

“Pompeii” as written by Daniel Smith, Lyrics © Universal Music Publishing Group.

What is your interpretation?****************************

I was left to my own devices

Many days fell away with nothing to show

And the walls kept tumbling down

In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
We were caught up and lost in all of our vices
In your pose as the dust settled around us
And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from aboveBut if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?Oh where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?
Oh oh where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins? And the walls kept tumbling down (oh where do we begin?)
In the city that we love (the rubble or our sins?)
Great clouds roll over the hills (oh where do we begin?)
Bringing darkness from above (the rubble or our sins?)But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?If you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?

Over 76 million hits on YouTube… This song keeps repeating in my head – especially like the Taiko? drumming… Have the lyrics – now have to think what does it all mean? I like to refer to the line “In your pose as the dust settled around us”… Walls are tumbling down and there’s turmoil but … we are in our “pose” just breathing?  Steel Pompeiis are yogis?
