Your life is perfect as it is, if you live it with your heart wide open.

WE ALREADY HAVE everything we need.

There is no need for self-improvement. All these trips that we lay on ourselves—the heavy-duty fearing that we’re bad and hoping that we’re good, the identities that we so dearly cling to, the rage, the jealousy and the addictions of all kinds—never touch our basic wealth.

They are like clouds that temporarily block the sun. But all the time our warmth and brilliance are right here. This is who we really are. We are one blink of an eye away from being fully awake.

– Pema Chodron

Words of my Yoga Alliance certified Sri* Yoga School Instructor Training teacher when I mentioned my first “real” class and how I was feeling anxious about it way back when:

I am so thrilled to hear about your new class.  You will be perfect.  The nervousness will dissipate for sure and … just “get out of your own way”, breath and remember these are not just people.  They are souls yearning for love and acceptance.  Big Hugs!

We are all so blessed with great teachers – We all need pep talks, encouragements, support … we all need love and acceptance!  The studio management as well has been so supportive in bringing on a style of yoga, that may not be as sweaty and sexy but nevertheless, recognized the need – such intelligent and open-minded souls full of love and acceptance promoting wellness without attachments (to ego, achievements, fear…) As my Buddhist friend often says, “what goes around, comes around” and the circle enlarges.  One Circle.  There’s love.  There’s acceptance.

*”Sri” has the root meaning of radiance or prosperity – and that thought of “radiance” and “light” brought me back these words from one of most inspirational woman thinkers of our time:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
 gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
 (smile – LOL!)

Actually, who are you not to be?

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking

so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory that is within us.

It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,

we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,

our presence automatically liberates others.”
