Buying Sake & getting carded …

Banzai!

I had assumed it’s just a racial thing where most are unable to tell the age of another from a different racial/ethnic makeup – but … this lady is of same broad brush background … so had to do a double take on the cashier … she IS wearing her glasses but perhaps they are fogged lenses. Or maybe it’s the lighting? So that’s what I mean about this practice being “anti-aging”? It’s not to put up a fight but embracing Self with loving kindness. If it’s been through a lot, let’s treat it with respect and kindness it deserves as it’s allowing us to experience all there is to experience in this miracle of life.

Reminded me this …

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”

― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

All is Well …

when you live in the present moment …

To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.

– Buddha

Subbed a class this morning. Subbing is fun. It’s like babysitting bunch of cute kids and you are not a mother to them. Just pure fun to reflect back the energy and see if something new can happen. Any shared vibe creates the tribe.

Here’s another place I’d like to frequent more often … if it were not for the fact that it’s a bit off the beaten path.

One of my protocols on this …

We are complex and in need of understanding. As betrayed as they may feel about their body, patients have to rethink the perception of pain first, according to Neil Pearson, yoga therapist from Vancouver. Typically, it’s an enemy to battle, to overcome… how does that work for you? How does numbing work for you? As with one with the lowest tolerance level for any kind of pain, it’s ironic that I find his teachings so accessible.

Given the recent letters from Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, United States Surgeon General to doctors about an unprecedented opioid epidemic in US, I think what Neil is sharing is so valuable to greater and greater number of people – who ordinarily lead a very normal strength based lives. As with anything, healing first comes from shift in how you frame the condition of pain that begets dependencies and then … empowering the sufferer. It’s not easy once you are in the eye of a storm so best have a regular practice. Not when it happens. Please take care – Namaste.
