Another great Blog

Yellow_sunflower-post

Discovered this great blog with quite a coverage on essential oils. In my own journey of self-care for restoration and renewal, I have learned great deal about from a floral designer teacher, Mari Kato sensei. Kato sensei is also a certified aromatherapist so … truly educational year learning about the benefits of aroma:)

Upon completing her course, I collected various essential oils not for commercial, resale business but purely for personal use sometime for the students and found that among all the brands and choices there are some that remains my favorite – a secret:) But I can get them for you if interested – just let me know:) There’s no shipping costs and maybe a little cheaper than retail or online…

BUT this blog is quite educational although I doubt it’s unbiased or totally neutral – and like wines, the choices you make are based on one’s taste and needs. Still a good place to start if you are looking for a study that compares QUALITY and PURITY. The rest is up to your personal likes and dislikes – sometimes, something that smells TOO strong or TOO good seem a bit artificial or boosted by something artificial ???

Flower Power !

If other yoga teachers read this and want to incorporate the benefits – sure, why not? Sharing is not be be feared but be celebrated. There’s Enough.

Peeling Potatoes is Something

Not Nothing…

Zen does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes.

To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don’t grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float.

– Alan Watts

Too much thinking … let’s just think Nothing and Relax and … FLOAT…

Alan Watts – quite cool – We may suffer but … this is somehow comforting – isn’t it? Another perspective …

I love this idea:)

It’s all Nothing …

The Endocrine System

The most real state is a state of …

IMG_9966_small
But … what about our hormones? Our glands? Our ducts? Our blood vessels? Our body’s estimated 37 Trillion cells? On our leased to own then return option at end of life?
Living in the physical world …desiring to feel … better.

The endocrine system refers to network of glands within our body.
This is maybe boring but nice review:)
These glands produce hormones, essential chemicals that bodily functions such as growth and metabolism relies on.
Endocrine diseases occur when glands produce insufficient amount of hormones.

The endocrine system plays a major role in controlling the following:

– Growth and development (for most women there are 3 major hormonal transitions – start of menstrual cycle; pregnancy; and menopause)
– Homeostasis (the internal balance of body systems)
– Metabolism (body energy management)
– Reproduction (huge hormonal surge for women)
– Response to stimuli (dealing with stress and injuries)

The glands of the endocrine system are:
Hypothalamus
Pineal Gland – third eye
Pituitary Gland
Thyroid
Parathyroid
Thymus
Adrenal
Pancreas
Ovaries/Testes

What does yoga have anything to do with this? I think some types of yoga really alleviates any disruption in the endocrine system … more on this fascinating subject …
