人類は小さな球の上で Mankind slumbers awakens and works
眠り起きそして働き on a small sphere
ときどき火星の火星人の仲間を欲しがったりする and sometimes wishes Martians were our friends
火星人は小さな球の上で Martians on Mars, also on their small sphire
何をしているか 僕は知らない I don’t know what they are up to
（或いは ネリリし キルルし ハララしているか）perhaps they are “neriri” and “kiriri” or “harara” whatever their onomatopoeia, we don’t know what they are doing
しかしときどき地球に仲間を欲しがったりする
But sometimes they want earthlings as their buddies
それはまったくたしかなことだ
That i feel is for certain
万有引力とは
Universal gravitation
ひき合う孤独の力である
is the power of attraction of those who are alone
宇宙はひずんでいる
that power of attraction resides hidden in the universe
それ故みんなは求めあう
Thus everyone desires one another
宇宙はどんどん膨らんでゆく
The universe balloons and expands
それ故みんなは不安である
Therefore we are all anxious
二十億光年の孤独に
To the loneliness beyond the two trillion light years

Two Trillion Light Years of Solitude?
How would you translate this poem? Thoughts like this keep me away from feeling the sadness … of losing my mother as she too has taken off on a journey into another universe, another dimension so many light years away …but she is no longer lonely – she is with all those who has passed on before us. She is home. She is united. We are one in this ever expanding universe.
