In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few. ”

Reminder to self with words of Shuryu Suzuki – “shoshin ni modoru” is a very common saying in Japan but translated into English, it sounds so novel …profound than a common place concept, haha.

It’s a famous quote but truth be told, I really love these words even more and feel it in my heart:

“Whereever you are, you are one with the clouds and one with the sun and the stars you see. You are one with everything. That is more true than I can say, and more true than you can hear.”

Ahhh, non-duality expressed and with that we start the day. The fact that last late night’s yoga class was not really what I was looking for – where is the soothing floaty feel? I don’t go to yoga for a gym workout – done that already – anyway, he’s still a very good teacher – it’s not the teacher’s fault but about my expectations vis a vis his offering – and that can be fixed – with my own counter-practice – really anything is fixable or at least believe in that.

Over the moon tonight, to be one with the moon Suzuki sensei did not mention but somethings are read between the lines and untold for greater emphasis I think …. At least, that’s my interpretation and the intention set for me as I look forward to this gathering hosted by goddesses tonight – Doesn’t this sound just like what we can all use? A workshop

to “explore the Wisdom Goddess of creativity and speech. Matangi’s power is to access our authentic voice and to speak from the “deepest expression of our hearts.” (Frawley)

Again, it’s just what I needed. I love my yogini friends who are on the same journey albeit uniquely varied paths.

BTW, asana-wise, here’s the textbook version of Anjaneyasana… not what I would do but again, a textbook is a textbook and modify or improv according to your body type, condition and the mood… the energy you want to create (or not by toning it down):Depending on the school of yoga, there are some variations on this asana/pose but you get the general picture – “Crescent Moon” or the gym term would be runner’s lunge or low lunge. I prefer to call it by the poetic version or for this one, will even throw in that Sanskrit …Anjaneyāsana…BTW, I did not know that reverse warrior is also called a crescent moon pose …

Heading into New Moon Saturday this weekend … Sun – Moon – Earth in alignment – Sunday is the first day of the new cycle:)

That is, to have nothing in your mind, to be empty of all thoughts … just the process … THAT’s “something” transformative taking place. “If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything.
