Iyengar.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>Mentioned in the last post about attaining desires not assuring happiness &#8211; to that affect, apparently there&#8217;s a reference by St Teresa of Avila about the unhappiness caused by wishes being granted&#8230; as in this proverb my former co-worker often used &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;Be careful what you wish for&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I might have mentioned something about my take on prayers vs. mantras&#8230; No one taught me that but I feel it so in my heart. Hope I did not offend anyone into religion. It&#8217;s all good.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\">&#8220;We would often be sorry if our wishes were gratified&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\">&#8211; Aesop (c. 550 BC)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\">&#8220;When the gods wish to punish us they answer our prayers&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\">&#8211; Oscar Wilde in An Ideal Husband (1895)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\">&#8220;Granting our wish one of fate&#8217;s saddest jokes is.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\">&#8211; James Russell Lowell<\/span><\/p>\n<p>*********************<\/p>\n<p>Jean and Brenna taught me &#8220;Maha Mrityunjaya&#8221; mantra and to quote them &#8211; \u00a0&#8220;The vibration of the Mantra empowers us to overcome all obstacles while empowering the healer- within.&#8221; \u00a0Thank you for your teachings Jean and Brenna:) \u00a0Over time,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/108_(number)\">108 times<\/a> recited and it&#8217;s sinking in:) \u00a0Things take a little more time for me as with all fermented nourishment&#8230;(does wine count as fermented nutrient ?) \u00a0 Flow-yin (not throw-in:) \u00a0practice whenever possible, daily restorative\/meditation&#8230; what a healing and energizing balance. This formula works for me; but we are all different; your formula may be completely different and that&#8217;s what you find out during your restorative practice through reflection; introspection and meditation &#8211; what equation works and what doesn&#8217;t &#8211; what we should keep trying and strive for; what we should simply drop when it does not serve us.
