Gratitude

Celebrating Spring in sun kissed room …

Tulips came from a friend visiting from Portland; a beautiful white calla lilies from a yoga student I find endearing; An angel wings hanging came from a girlfriend returning from a trip… all unexpected gifts for no reasons … Each one I don’t usually get to see too often, all leading busy lives.  These sweet gestures teaches me that I too want to become more like them – a human being who knows how to make another being happy for no reasons other than to … it’s not obligatory, with no fancy fanfare, simply from the heart; to give with no expectations; to give without expecting a return.  I want to be more like them – someone who brings joy and light with unexpected small things and subtle gestures.  Let’s all “Be a Nice Human” like these lovely thoughtful beings.  Fuzzy warm feelings all inside thanks to these nice human beings.

Calla Lilies symbolism according to a flower language site is as follows:  “The most common meaning for calla lilies is purity, holiness, and faithfulness. It’s commonly depicted in images of the Virgin Mary. Calla lilies are also symbols for rebirth and resurrection, tied to the resurrection of Jesus in part because they bloom around Easter and in part because they are shaped like trumpets which symbolize triumph.”

& Yellow Tulips?  Apparently according to the same site, it symbolizes “cheerful thoughts” and that they definitely bring.

& a golden heart with angel wings?  To me, it’s something about  holding onto memories of loved ones  … it’s about honoring something so precious as eternal … ultimately it’s about … gratitude.

ポートランドのお友達からチューリップを頂き、ヨガクラスの生徒さんから思いがけなくお庭からのお花で用意された花束を…壁には妹のようにかわいがってくださるお友達からの(エンジェルの羽だそう) 可愛いハートの飾ワォ―ルアートオブジェを頂き、胸がキュンキュン… 送主の皆様なかなか日常ではお会いできない方々ばかりなのですよ~なので余計に感謝の気持ちで一杯です。私もさりげなく人を喜ばせる素手を知っているような人間になりたいな。改めて気がつくと周りにはそういった進化を遂げてる女神がいっぱい…物々交換になってしまうけど楽しくありませんか?中でもうれしかったのはアップルビネガーの一瓶だったり…さりげなくスタイリッシュなお方…私も見習いたいです。そういった何気ない肩が凝らないシェアリングって…いいな。美しい物、体にいい食材などに出会ったら自分だけで独り占めにするのではなく、シェアするって。ヨガもそんな感じでしょうか。良い物、心地よい、体にいいプラクティスはシャアリング、すると自分だけでなく、周りの笑顔がもっと増え、ポジティブな波動が波のように打ち寄せ皆いい物を持ち寄るあのエネルギー補給…するとそれぞれ内面に秘めていた要らないものは処分され、スーと波のように引き寛大な海、大きな宇宙がどんよりした毒素や不安やストレスなど…吸い取ってくれるのですよね。いつもお荷物をしょって負担が重い方こそ得にこの心身共スッキリした身軽くなった心地良さ…味わってもらいたいな… 色々な良き変化が感じとれるプラクティスを捧げます。

ホームプラクティスも場を掃除し、整える作業から始まるので、この頃あちこちでエネルギーを無駄使いしてる愚かな私にとって特効薬:)先日交通事故に遭いました~身にはかすり傷一つもなさそうなので、ラッキーなものの愛車は修理に預けなくては。車生活にどっぷり頼っているアメリカ生活のなかではここ数週間余計不便になる予定ですが…ヨガナウ。

 

De-cluttering Spring Cleaning not exactly KonMari style

To find few certificates still in envelopes mixed up with study materials and binders and folders …it’s only been half a year so the paper still smells fresh but no doubt about to collect dust and forgotten unless if … I do something with it.

So shouldn’t I do something with this?  I don’t mean to frame it – shouldn’t I do something with this designation to be of more help – to share this great practice ?

Feeling like I am going to “lose it” if I don’t use it as this lays to waste as just a piece of paper if I don’t incorporate all the learning into the day-to-day.

Taking the time to set an intention for this day … to be more purposeful, mindful and joyful:)

Have you too had the feeling that you have all the skills and talents but somehow you are not revealing them or keeping them to yourself and not sharing?  And do you wonder why?  Is it lack of opportunities to match the skill-set to the right outlet? Is it because you are insecure to channel the energy to the right direction with clear intentions?  Do you feel sometimes that your essence, your truth that could actually help someone, is only that – an intention but not directed to an actual action due to a mis-match of your intention with what you are actually doing (or not doing)?  We all wrestle with emotions of vulnerability that we are quick to guard and protect.

What if … rather than being on guard, we …are just okay with being vulnerable … that’s not weakness… but true strength I think.  We may layer upon layer grow thick skin but … they still needs to be porous … as we invite our centering “porous” breath of Oneness:)

Yoga Mat Care

Had this Manduka re-salted to see if the non-skid quality would improve. The hot sweaty season is coming and nothing is as unpleasant as smell of sweaty mats unrolled upon being rolled up untended stored and transported in super heated car trunks. Our olfactory is such great part of our yogic experience so recommend routine mat care …

As for just cleaning, salt and hose. Or here’s a nice formula to mix in a spray bottle:

1/2 c witch hazel

1/4 c vodka or alcohol

Few drops Tea Tree essential oil

Optional- other oils can be added-

For example

– grapefruit lemon or lime

for the energizing citrus scents*

– Clove Rosemary Cypress Eucalyptus

For clarity, select forestry scents

– lavender- rose – geranium

For that relaxing dreamy scents

But if you are the practical kind, just …alcohol to eliminate germs bacteria growth. Would check the manufacturer care instructions to see if alcohol spray does not fade any designs if any. A wipe with water wet towel might be needed. I have also used baby wipes !

* btw per a Japanese scientists it’s been shown that inhaling grapefruit scents actually helps with weight reduction – really? Nice!
