Beautiful Places Beautiful Rituals

Brahma to Brahman (ultimate reality)

Seems ironic that this four-faced vedic divinity/God statute is placed right off Hell’s Kitchen but then … maybe not.  Very saddened to hear about the devastation in Paradise, CA.  Prayer for the lost and the perished and prayer for the survivors that their lives be restored soon.  It’s getting cold (still why no rain?) so maybe warm jacket and coats are needed.  Here’s another helpful link I found.

Committed No Sins in Sin City …

Chihuly !?  Yes !  Beautiful … dreamy … sigh.

See, most goddesses are in restorative or yin poses … haha:)

Talking tree …

Painting made of flower petals.  No, it does not last forever … just here and now.

Committed no sins in this Sin City – Rather … walked over 20,000 steps; climbed 18 floors according to iPhone health monitor – and felt gratitude for the opportunity to explore this over the top place. Then even more grateful to get home. Glam and glitz actually makes me feel uncomfortable- rather prefer simplicity and nature but … man made depictions captured above – display made with flowers and … jellyfish like glass art covering grand ceilings.  To be under Chihuly … was a treat.  Filled gratitude for the air quality here … we take our breath, our air for granted but when the wild fires of California is only 35% contained, we are acutely aware … aware of each breath we take.

Namaste.

Why am I here?

“Spiritual” dining??? and “religious” nightlife ??? What?!!!

Smoke was seen coming out from rooftop earlier…Coming from California, had no appreciation for such fire and smoke display.  Made my stomach turn actually.

Not his fan or anything and did not eat here but I recall the quote my yoga teacher used that was apparently his.  Per this teacher, he told one chef that her/his cooking was too complicated to cover her/his insecurities, inadequacies – to compensate for the lack of confidence, there’s just too much was Ramsey’s message.  That can be applied to many situations and people.  In the case of yoga teaching, simple and accessible is best was my teacher’s point – no need to use Sanskrit or fancy anatomy jargon to teach to be authentic. Her words came back to me as we stepped into check this place out – a t-shirt that reads – go to hell – would not do well in my world.  Besides, it’s just not …me.  We laughed. Anyway, Hell’s Kitchen was buzzing and hot.  So much so that we had to stop by the Four Faced Buddha there to find peace.

So wanted to see Yayoi Kusama’s exhibit but the show does not start until 17th … just missed it.

Looked for a yoga studio that’s accessible but all I found was … Soul Cycle.  Apparently there’s a studio called Sin City Yoga – SOOO would have loved to take a class there but … as a typical as my recent theme goes, I ran out of … time.

I felt a bit in an alternative fake universe here.
